This is to inform you of the potential problems that could arise if you are also taking oral contraceptives. Occasionally the antibiotic may interfere with the way the oral contraceptive pill works, thus in some cases it can make it less effective.
Accordingly, you are advised to use different methods of contraceptives whilst taking the prescribed course of antibiotics. After finishing your course of antibiotics, it is always wise to wait at least seven days before you commence taking the contraceptive pill in the normal manner.
If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact either your dentist or general practitioner. Please note that all matters such as these will be discussed in the strictest confidence.
